Goodguys Rod & Custom Association, the world’s largest hot rodding association and producer of “America’s Favorite Car Show” is excited to kick off their 2025 event season with cool cars, cool people and good times March 14-16 at WestWorld in Scottsdale, Arizona. The event brings in over 2,500 hot rods, customs, classic trucks and muscle cars from across the country to gather together for a jam-packed weekend of hot rodding fun in the Valley of the Sun.

ORLANDO, FL – According to AAA’s latest survey on autonomous vehicles, 13% of U.S. drivers would trust riding in self-driving vehicles – an increase from last year, when this number was 9%. Despite this slight increase, 6 in 10 U.S. drivers still report being afraid to ride in a self-driving vehicle. For drivers, enhancing vehicle safety systems remains a priority over the development of self-driving, with interest among drivers decreasing from 18% in 2022 to 13% this year.

“Most drivers want automakers to focus on advanced safety technology,” said Greg Brannon, the automotive engineering director at AAA. “Though opinions on fully self-driving cars vary widely, it’s evident that today’s drivers value features that enhance their safety.”

This week, gas prices dropped by three cents, bringing the national average to $3.12 per gallon. Gas prices are expected to remain steady as March arrives and routine seasonal maintenance wraps up. The national average per kilowatt hour of electricity at a public EV charging station remains the same at 34 cents.

We know we need to take care of our cars, but I often hear from people that it seems hard to remember to do it.

We generally accept that many things in life require regular maintenance, but just may have not applied it to our vehicles.

$1.4 billion investment in Indiana plant brings production of an all-new BEV

Toyota adds up to 340 new, sustainable U.S. jobs

PRINCETON, Ind., April 25, 2024 - Toyota will prepare for assembly of an all-new, three row battery electric SUV in the U.S. as part of a new $1.4 billion investment in its Princeton facility, affirming Toyota's commitment to reinvesting profits in its U.S. operations and bringing total investment in Toyota Indiana to $8 billion. This also brings the addition of up to 340 new, high-quality jobs with long-term stability.

This investment will not only provide plant infrastructure to build the all-new BEV, it will add a new battery pack assembly line using lithium-ion batteries supplied by Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina, a $13.9 billion facility slated to begin production in 2025.

Washington, DC – Raising speed limits on highways could lead to more crashes on nearby roads, according to new research by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety. This “spillover effect” creates unintended safety hazards for local communities that might not be involved in the decision-making process to raise the posted speed limit on a nearby highway. According to NHTSA, speeding is a significant safety concern, contributing to almost one-third of road fatalities in the past 20 years.

AAA Foundation researchers investigated whether changes to posted speed limits on interstate highways could cause drivers to adopt risky speeding behaviors on local streets. The study looked at crash data before and after speed limit increases on interstates in Georgia, Michigan, and Oregon. Hot spot analyses were conducted on roads within a 1-mile radius of interstates. Researchers found many instances where speed-related crashes increased on nearby roads following the interstate speed limit change, suggesting that drivers exiting the highway continued their faster tendencies.
