Located on the historic corner of 7th Street and Virginia, this shop has been a cornerstone of the community for over 25 years. Originally founded in 1945 by a World War II veteran, it served local drivers for decades before closing its doors in the late 80s. However, in 1994, Matt Allen, a passionate mechanic, saw potential in the abandoned shop. With a vision and a dedication to quality service, he reopened the shop, bringing new life to Virginia Auto Service.
Matt Allen’s Vision: Reviving Virginia Auto Service
When Matt Allen stumbled upon the boarded-up Virginia Auto Service, he knew it was meant for him. Despite its dilapidated state, he envisioned transforming the space into a thriving business focused on delivering exceptional auto repair services. With a few tools, cleaning supplies, and a lot of determination, Matt began the restoration process. His dedication paid off, as Virginia Auto Service quickly became known for its excellent customer care and skilled mechanics. The business grew, adding staff while never losing sight of its customer-centric values.
The Fire That Couldn't Stop Virginia Auto Service
In 2004, Virginia Auto Service faced a devastating setback when an arsonist set the shop ablaze, destroying most of the building and several customer cars. Yet, Matt Allen and his team refused to give up. With three bays in the back left untouched by the fire, the team continued serving customers while the shop was rebuilt. Today, Virginia Auto Service stands as a testament to resilience, dedication, and the unwavering commitment to providing quality auto repair services to Phoenix drivers.
