Nearly 49 million Americans are driving to their Thanksgiving destinations this year between Wednesday and Sunday, a slight increase from 2021. Despite higher gas prices, travelers are hitting the road in a big way this holiday, for what is expected to be the third busiest Thanksgiving since 2000. The national average for a gallon of regular at the start of Thanksgiving week was $3.66, down 11 cents from the previous week.

FORT WORTH, Texas – Goodguys Rod & Custom Association, the world’s largest hot rod association and producer of America’s favorite car shows, announces its 2023 event schedule along with an exciting show schedule extension that will enable more enthusiasts across the country to join Goodguys in celebrating the automotive hobby and car culture.

The upcoming 40th-anniversary 2023 Goodguys season will feature 12 three-day National events and two two-day Get-Togethers in Pleasanton, California, Goodguys’ original headquarters. All 14 events are scheduled as close to their traditional weekends as possible, with no venue changes for the upcoming season.

Additionally, all 12 National events will incorporate All-American Sunday, welcoming all-American-made or -powered vehicles of all years to the show to cap off each weekend’s festivities.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 17, 2022) — Fears of a global economic recession led to a major drop in the price of crude, down $7, which helped to minimize pump price increases last week. Meanwhile, domestic gasoline demand decreased as fewer drivers fueled up in the first half of October. According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gas demand decreased nationally from 9.47 million b/d to 8.28 million b/d, and total domestic gasoline stocks increased by 2 million bbl to 209.5 million bbl.

MARYSVILLE, Ohio, Oct. 11, 2022 -- Honda today announced two major investments in Ohio, including $700 million to re-tool several of its existing auto and powertrain plants for production* of electric vehicles and $3.5 billion with LG Energy Solution (LGES) to establish a previously announced joint venture facility to produce the battery modules to power them, pending final government approvals. The JV battery plant will be located in Ohio's Fayette County, about 40 miles southwest of Columbus.

The announcement, held 45 years to the day after Honda announced its first production facility in Ohio — October 11, 1977 — will transform Honda's Marysville Auto Plant (MAP), East Liberty Auto Plant (ELP) and Anna Engine Plant (AEP) for the electrified future, including the creation of over 300 new jobs. Honda plans to begin production and sales of Honda EVs in North America in 2026, based on its new Honda e:Architecture. The $700 million re-tooling will enable AEP associates to produce the battery case, to be combined with the battery modules from the JV plant on a sub-assembly line at MAP, with the complete battery unit then installed in EVs built by associates at both MAP and ELP.
